HOW TO CAST



First, find the simple instructions by:

  • Selecting “Google Chromecast” on the interactive TV menu or channel guide
  • Switching to the HDMI input using the TV remote

Then, follow the instructions on the screen to join the Wi-Fi Network shown and connect your device

Now, open any Cast-enabled app on your mobile device, tap the Cast button and select your room.

(The Cast button generally appears in the upper right of your mobile device's screen)

THE BASICS

Chromecast is a media streaming device by Google that enables you to cast your favorite entertainment from your phone or tablet straight to your TV. It is now supported in a growing number of hotels so that you can enjoy your own content on the hotel room TV instead of watching it on the small screen.

Just tap the Cast button from a cast enabled app on your phone or tablet to send shows/movies/music/games to your TV.

DO I NEED THE GOOGLE CAST APP?

No. You won’t need the Google Cast app, but you may need a free app that connects your device to the TV. Just follow the instructions on screen.

WILL CASTING TAX MY DATA?

No. Once your device is connected to the hotel Wi-Fi, it will not use your cellular data.

WILL CASTING DRAIN MY BATTERY?

No. Your battery is only used to initiate the stream. Once you select your content, it is streamed from the cloud to the TV, leaving your device resources alone and saving your battery.

CAN I USE MY DEVICE WHILE CASTING?

Yes. Once you cast, you can use your mobile device for other things while your entertainment continues to play on the TV.

HOW DO I STOP CASTING MY MEDIA?

Simply tap the Cast button for options to disconnect.

HOW DO I SWITCH APPS?

Open a different app and press the Cast button within the app to override what is currently casting to the TV.

CAN THE NEXT GUEST IN MY ROOM VIEW MY CONTENT?

No. All of your credentials are stored on your own personal device and are never entered into the hotel room TV. Your device is automatically disconnected from the TV at checkout.

IS THERE A CHARGE TO CAST?

No. There is no fee to cast. However, some hotels may charge for access to the hotel Wi-Fi, which is required for casting.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Yes! First, make sure you are on the correct Wi-Fi network. The TV screen instructions will list the correct network.
If you are on the correct Wi-Fi network and are unable to cast:

  • Make sure you are casting from a supported app.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of the app from the Google Play store or Apple® App Store®.

If you are still unable to cast, please call the phone number displayed on your hotel room TV. We’re available 24x7 every day and are here to ensure a positive experience.



  • First, ensure that you are using a supported app.
  • Next, close the app completely:
    • On an iOS device, double tap the Home button, then swipe the app up to close it.
    • On an Android device, launch the recent applications menu, then swipe the app right to close it.
  • Re-open the app.

No. Hotels isolate devices on the network so that guest devices and information are secure. As a result, your mobile device will not be able to see your Chromecast. The casting solution in your room has been engineered to work in a hotel so that you don’t have to bring your own casting device.
